Fishing Rods

Material The materials used in the manufacture of fishing rods may vary in many ways.

  • Fibreglass is durable, economic and adapts to most types of fishing.
  • Graphite is stronger and more sensitive but are more expensive compared to earlier.
  • Carbon is slightly stronger but more expensive still.
  • Bamboo requires more care and lacks the strength of materials previously spoken. This is still used in fly rods and handmade.

The length of the rod gains importance for where to be used, thus: A Short rod works well in places with little space as in the case of boats and one long cane will be most suitable for releases requiring greater range.

The rods are characterized by snap action only bend the tip, the average bending action of the medium forward and finally the double-acting along the entire rod.
