In the lodge at lunchtime, Caroline was, of course, very grateful to have her line back, and to see the fish that had run off with it. The story of its recapture was also impressive. The river had dropped even more since they started and Ben could make out a depression at the edge of the pool that looked as though it had undercut the bank.
