The epilogue to this story is that the lake owner was delighted the pike had been removed, because she thought it had been responsible for eating all the ducklings in the spring. Greg’s father was so delighted with his son’s efforts that he paid to have the pike set up in a bow-fronted glass case, and it hangs in Greg’s home to this day.
